What is Diabetes?
When we eat, our food is converted into glucose, which enters our bloodstream. This glucose needs to be transported from the bloodstream into our cells to provide energy. However, sometimes our body either can’t produce enough insulin or the cells become resistant to it and don’t use it effectively. When this occurs, glucose remains in the bloodstream, leading to diabetes.

Early detection of diabetes is important for effective management and preventing complications. Certain symptoms of high blood sugar levels often go unnoticed or are mistaken for other conditions. For instance, some symptoms overlap with those of menopause, making it challenging to identify the underlying cause without proper testing.

– Sleep Issues: If you’re experiencing difficulties sleeping, it could be related to diabetes affecting your sleep patterns.
– Fatigue: Feeling constantly tired is a common symptom, as diabetes impacts your body’s energy levels.

– Weight Gain: Insulin resistance, a precursor to diabetes, can lead to unexpected weight gain.

– Yeast Infections: Individuals with diabetes may experience frequent yeast infections due to elevated sugar levels.

Managing diabetes involves a comprehensive approach that includes diet modifications, regular physical activity, monitoring blood sugar levels, and, if necessary, medication as prescribed by your doctor.
