This silken tofu recipe is a delicious way to include vegan protein into your diet while keeping it low in fat.
Enjoy the blend of flavours and the ease of preparation, making healthy eating both simple and enjoyable.
300 grams silken tofu, drainedÂ
1 tbsp tamari or soy sauce
1 tbsp mirin
1 tbsp maple syrup
1/2 tsp black sesame seeds
2 spring onions, finely sliced
2-3 tbsp coriander leaves, chopped
Carefully drain the silken tofu. As it comes from a carton, it might break a little at the edges, but that’s perfectly fine. Let it drain for 2-3 hours.
In a small bowl, combine 1 tablespoon of tamari or soy sauce, 1 tablespoon of mirin, and 1 tablespoon of maple syrup. Mix well.
Place the drained tofu in a plate or serving dish and pour the marinade over it. Let it marinate for an hour to absorb the flavours.
Sprinkle 1/2 teaspoon of black sesame seeds over the tofu. Top with finely sliced spring onions and chopped coriander leaves.
This dish serves 2 people. Enjoy it with a side of rice and a fresh salad.
Not only is this dish incredibly easy to make, taking just 10 minutes of preparation, but it’s also delicious and a great source of vegan protein.
Including protein in your diet is crucial, especially if you’re looking to maintain or build muscle while keeping fat intake low.
